The Markham Fertility Centre (MFC) was established in 1989.  We average over 400 in-vitro fertilization (IVF) and 700 intra-uterine insemination (IUI) cycles per year
and maintain personalized service for infertile couples.  Our direct doctor-patient care ensures patients avoid the inconvenience of seeing several different physicians for their treatment cycle. Our philosophy is a simple:  offer patient-specific treatment that
is performed at the highest standard of care, and give patients direct and honest information. The feedback we receive from our patients is our greatest source of pride: patients always feel they are treated as individuals rather than just another number or statistic.
 
MFC is directed by Dr. Michael Virro, BSc, MD, FRCS(C), whose interest in infertility dates back to 1982, when he was involved with one of the very first IVF units established in Toronto.  Our experienced staff and laboratory quality is our greatest strength.  Sharon Hill, our IVF laboratory director, has over 20 years of IVF experience.  MFC volunteered to be one of the first private infertility clinics, in Canada, to be accredited by the Canadian Council on Health Services (CCHS) in 2003.
